Sicky, Sicky

Well, we probably won't be doing anything fun today because Tom-Tom has been sick for the past few days. He's been throwing up since early Friday morning. He's been throwing up and has had diarrhea. :( Also, on Saturday evening when his daddy brought him home I took his temp and it was 103.1!! I was freaking out!! lol I was searching the internet and even called the nurse line that is provided by his insurance. My poor baby. Thankfully he hasn't had a temp that high any more and he hasn't been sick all morning. Hope he gets to feeling better soon.

Work and play ;)

So, today I was scheduled to be off from work and (of course) we had two people call out. Therefore, I was called in to come fill in. BORING!! lol

Now time for the "play" part of this post! ;)

So, my cousin's sis-in-law had a Pure Romance birthday party. Let me just say it is soooo much fun!!! :D If you have never been to one and you are invited GO!! You get a demo of alot of the lotions, potions, "toys" and you get to know all of your girlfriends a little bit better! lol

I bought stuff called Mini Nights of Passion. It says "this set of 5 Pure Romance favs will take you through an entire evening of romance, from pheromone-infused bubble baths to sensual massage -- and beyond!" Oooo!! lol Well, I'm off to play with my new toys! See ya later!!! ;-D

Fall Fun

So, I know I haven't posted in a while. Not much going on around here... Well, I take that back. I got a new job. I work at a nursing home doing housekeeping I started in the middle of July.

I've had to replace alot of stuff on our car which is a 94 Chevy Corsica. I've had to replace the brakes, tires and put a new battery in it. Now, the heater coil is busted. I can still drive it because one of the guys that works for my landlord bypassed the heater coil. So, it still runs I just don't have any heat. It sucks in the mornings when I need to defrost the windows. Luckily it's not cold here yet so I don't have to worry about it other than the defrost part.

We did get another car, too. We got an 05 Malibu. We only got it because we needed a car ASAP and we didn't know what was wrong with the Corsica at the time.

Now for the fall fun part of the story! We went to the Shuckles Corn Maze today and let me just say that we all had a BLAST!! It is more than just a corn maze. They have all kinds of activities and loads of fun stuff! Here's some pics.

Fun Sunday!

So, we had a boring Saturday because hubby had to work and me and the LO were stuck at home, but our Sunday was super fun!! We went to the lake with my brother-in-law, sis-in-law, their two kids and my SIL's mom and brother. Here's some pics.

Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattison (I know, I know go ahead and roll your eyes!!), Brad Pitt (of course who doesn't think he's hot?!! I don't like that nasty looking beard he's rocking these days though!) and Tyrese. I know there are more I'm just having a blonde moment and can't think of anymore right now.

Austrailia or England.

7-8. Depends on the shoe and how it's made.

Ummm... childbirth!

1. What is your worst memory of your siblings?

I don't have any siblings so I can't answer this one.

2. What was YOUR naughtiest childhood memory? (Must be something YOU did, no pawning it off on someone else!)
I think that would have to be the time that I busted my cousin (John-Warren) in the head with his toy motorcycle. I don't remember what happened in order for me to do that. I just remember getting scolded by everyone in the family! lol

3. Where do you like to go to relax?
Ummm... bed!


4. What was the last thing you won?
I haven't ever won anything.. no wait.. I take that back I won a makeover back on 2004 or 2005, but couldn't go because I didn't have anyone to take me. :(

5. If you could be on a game show, which would you choose?
I think I would go on Family Feud. I LOVE playing online!

Mother's Day Mania -- Day 2

Today's the topic for Mother's Day Mania is birth stories.

Tom-Tom's birth was VERY unexciting!! I take that back his BIRTH was exciting, but the labor part of it wasn't. I will tell my story anyway, though!

**This is copied from my pregnancy journal (The day after I had him)**

12/21/2007 - Baby Thomas is here! Finally after being 5 days past due.

I got to the hospital a little after 7am. We got stuck in traffic on the way here. They broke my water at 9am after 3 tries and put me on a pit drip. At 10:30am I was getting my epidural. It didn't work the first time it only went down my right side. So they had to come in and re-do it at 3 something. At 4pm I was 5cm. At 5pm I was between 6-7cm. The doctor wasn't ready when he was though! I had to push untiil he crowned and then had to wait for the doctor to get into my room before he could be delivered. He was born at 5:56pm. 7lbs. 9oz. With chipmunk cheeks! He looks just like his daddy.

See.. I told ya! Not much to it! I did forget to mention that the hospital must have loved me so much that they gave me an anesthesiologist in training!! OMG did she hurt me!! I was sitting there and she was rooting around in my spine then all of a sudden I feel this SHARP pain go up my spinal column. I know your're not supposed to move during an epidural because it can paralize you, but it was a reaction that I couldn't control. Kinda like when you touch a hot stove and you automatically jerk your hand back. That's what I did, but with my back!! Sounds lovely doesn't it!! It didn't cause any damage. *wipes brow* Thank God she didn't come in and do my second one!!

Mother's Day Mania -- Day Uno!

First off, Happy Cinco De Mayo!! Nothing going on here for this holiday. I wish I could of at least gotten some Mexican food and possibly a Corona or two. We're broke so that didn't happen. :-( Oh well.

So, today is the first day of Mama M.'s Mother's Day Mania and today is Whoopsie Wednesday.

Here's my first whoopsie with my one and only Tom-Tom.

*Takes deep breath* Here goes nothing!

So, Tom-Tom was between 1 and 2 months old and I had just finished breastfeeding him. He started to spit up a little so I sat him down on the bed to reach over and get a bib. Well, dumby me didn't think to get a bib before I started feeding him so I had to stand up and reach over to the chest where the bibs were hiding. I propped him up on some pillows that were sitting right on the edge of the bed. Looking back on it that probably wasn't the smartest idea! I, of course, wasn't thinking about it at the time. Anyway, I stood up grabbed the bib and turned around just in time to see my precious little baby hit the floor... head first! I tried to catch him, but it was too late! He hit the floor. I said a few choice words and immediately FREAKED!! I tried to look calm in front of my cousin (whom we were living with at the time) while I walked out of my room to get the phone. Inside I was panicking, though. I quickly explained the situation to my cousin and then called my husband (fiancee) at the time. He was at work and I told him that he HAD to come home and take us to the doctor. I felt like a horrible mommy!! Luckily, he just got a bump on the head, forehead, to be exact. Woo! *wipes brow*

I know I've had more, but that's the one that stands out the most to me. Maybe, because it was my first whoopsie as a mother. Maybe because it was so traumatic, for me at least. He probably doesn't remember. Thank goodness!!

Wow!

It's been a moment since I have posted a new blog! Nothing much to talk about until today!

We have had record setting rainfall in Tennessee today. We haven't seen rain like this here since the 1950's. Whole neighborhoods have been washed away. People are dead and missing. It's been an awful weekend. Luckily, we didn't have any water damage. Here's some pics of my neighborhood this morning.

We are very thankful that we didn't have any flood damage to our house. I feel so sorry for the folks that have/had houses that are completely under water and the people who have dead and missing relatives.

5 Question Friday

 

It's Friday! So, that means that it's time to answer 5 Questions from Mama M.'s blog.

1. Do you sing karaoke? If so, what is your go to song?

Heck no!!! Hahahaha I know that I suck at singing and I don't even attempt it! (Unless I'm in the car and it's just the hubster, Tom-Tom and me. Even then, I don't sing very loud!)

2. What is your favorite coffee drink?

Ummmm... I don't drink coffee that often, but I like the iced coffee's and I like it with mocha and caramel. Mmm, yummy!! FYI if you want to achieve the "mocha" flavor to your coffee at home just add some hot chocolate. It's very tasty!

3. If you could choose your own name, what would it be?

Ok so call me weird, but I've never thought about this one. I don't know! I like the name Madison and Emma. So I'll say Emma Madison!

4. Were you ever bullied?

Nah.

5. How often do you eat fast food?

We eat fast food usually between 1-3 times a week. Most of the time not more than that.  Unless it's like tax time or something! lol Then we go a little crazy and eat out almost everyday (for dinner, that is).

Park Play

Since Dada was off today and it was a very nice day (66 degrees for the high today. I know, you're jealous!!) Anyway we took Tom-Tom to play at the playground. We had tons of fun and I got some pics.

5 Question Friday

 

Woo hoo! It's the weekend! Which means nothing to me, but for those that work Monday - Friday I'm sure you're happy! Anyway, today I'm participating in Mama M.'s Five Question Friday. Here goes nothing!

1. Have you ever hit an animal with your vehicle? 

Nope. If an animal is sitting/laying in the middle of the road or runs/walks out into the road I will stop and go around or let them pass.

2. When you see a string on your clothes do you pull it off or cut if off?

I usually pull it. Sometimes, I will get the lighter and burn it (just to get that little burnt piece at the end.) For some reason I think it will not come unstitched (I don't think that's a word, but you get what I mean!! lol At least I hope you do!)

3. Did you have your own room or share a room when you were young?

I am an only child so... I had my own room!!! :D

4. Would you rather wear the same thing for the rest of your life or eat the same thing for the rest of your life?

Oh gosh! That's a hard one, especially since I get bored VERY easily! Umm, but if I had to choose I would say... wear the same thing the rest of my life. I just love food and there is too much good food out there to eat the same thing the rest of my life.

5. What was your favorite TV show as a child?

Oh man! I had lots of favorite shows when I was a kid! The first show I remember watching EVERY single day was Sesame Street! I LOVED that show! I even got into a fight with my cousin because he wanted to watch Gunsmoke  *rolls eyes* and I wanted to watch Sesame Street!! lol

Valentine's Day Extravaganza -- Fav Wedding Memory

My favorite wedding memory is the surprise of the whole thing!! lol We didn't plan anything! It wasn't a big production or anything. We told everyone the weekend before that we were going to get married. I don't know if everyone forgot if they just thought we were bluffing or something! lol It was Thursday, January 28th, 2010. Hahaha not even a month ago! Thomas, Tom-Tom and I all woke up and got ourselves ready to go. We had to go pay on a ticket that Thomas got. So, we called my cousin Matt and told him "Hey, we're going to pay on T's ticket and we're probably going to get married while we're there!" lol Well, they don't do that at the city hall. (How was I supposed to know!!! lol) So, we went to my cousin's house and told him that they didn't do marriage licenses there. He said you have to go to the county offices. So, we did with only Matt, his wife Lisa, and our aunt Tammie (BTW, Lisa and Tammie were on there lunch breaks!! lol) That's my favorite memory!

Valentine's Day Extravaganza -- Day 3

 

Today's theme is "Engagement Stories"

Before I tell you the engagement story let me give you a little bit of history! If you read any of the previous Valentine's Day Extravaganza posts you know that T and I started dating in high school (and if you haven't you know now! lol). Well, we were an "off and on" kind of couple when we were dating. We dated for a few months then broke up then got back together several different times! Well, in August of 2004 T moved to Mississippi to get to know his mom, grandmother and brother (he was adopted and that's why he didn't "know" them). I thought it was over for good because neither one of us knew if he would come back to Tennessee. Then, in June or July the next year he came back to Tennessee because his foster mother was very ill and about to pass. About a month later she did pass. I was there for him the whole time she was in the hospital and the entire time he was grieving. I guess that's when he realized that he had a good girl and didn't want to let me go. Maybe a month after his mom's passing we were sitting on my aunt's porch by ourselves and he just started telling me how much he cared about me and that he didn't want to live life without me. (I fought back tears!) He didn't have a ring at the time because he had just came back up here and didn't have a job yet! I didn't care, though. I knew what he was saying was coming from his heart and I couldn't/wouldn't deny him and break his heart. And that's our little story!! =D

Valentine's Day Extravaganza -- Day 2

Today's Valentine's Day Extravaganza theme is Your favorite date story (good or bad!!), or the best night out you've had with your bestie!

I would have to say that the best date that me and the hubster has had was the last one we went on. We went on a date last month (January). We went to Red Lobster (without Tom-Tom) and I had a great time!! Just hanging out with Thomas and talking (and having adult conversation, for once!!). Also, the food was GREAT!! I love Red Lobster, but we never get to go because it's way too expensive! =( I wish we could go more often... maybe when we hit the lottery!! =D Anyway, afterward we went to my cousin's house and had game night with them and it was soooo much fun! Kind of a boring story (i guess), but hey we don't get very many date night's these days and the one's we had when we were single weren't very exciting either!

Valentine's Day Extravaganza -- Day 1

So, I am a follower of Mama M.'s blog. I like reading her posts and I like her attitude! Anyway this week is Valentine's Day Extravaganza week. I was supposed to post this yesterday (Sunday), but we were gone pretty much all day and I wasn't able to. 

Sunday's theme was the story of how you met the love of your life...or, if you haven't yet met the love of your life tell me how you met your best friend!

Well, Thomas and I went to high school together. We had been friends for a year or two before he asked me out. He asked me out by writing me a note when we were in 12th grade! (I know, how old was he!! lol) After he gave me the note I didn't see him at school for a couple of weeks. (Then again I hardly ever saw him to begin with because he was always skipping school.) I didn't answer him right away because he had gone out with my best friend before me, but I think it was a few years before he asked me out. I hadn't ever been asked out by my best friend's ex before, but I had always heard on TV and movies that dating your best friend's ex was a BIG no-no!! lol At the end of the school year at prom he asked me out again and I said yes. 

Now we are happily married and have one handsome son together. I'm glad I chose him over her because he stuck around and she didn't! She showed her true colors when I was pregnant, but that's a story for another day!

Valentine's Crafts

This morning we did some Valentine's Day crafts. They didn't turn out perfect, but what do you expect from a 2 year old! lol Anyway, we tried to do a Heart Hand print stamp thingy like the one here, but Tom-Tom did it like once and then when I tried to get him to do it with the other hand for some reason he just didn't get it!! lol Anyway, here's how it turned out.

Then, we did some Valentine's Day stamping with cookie cutters and paint.
