She's here!!

After almost a week I'm finally getting on here to announce the arrival of Sophia!

After being 10 days past my due date she is FINALLY here!! :D

My labor story:

On Wednesday (11/30) I started having contractions. At first I didn't even know that's what they were so I continued on with my normal bedtime routine not thinking too much about it. I went to bed and tried to get some sleep, but kept waking up to the contractions (still not realizing that's what they were). At 5:30 am Thursday morning I decided to just get up. Everyone else was of course still sleeping. That's when it hit me that I was in labor! I let everyone sleep because I still hadn't lost my mucus plug and my water hadn't broke so I figured I had a while before I had to go to the hospital. I also had a doctor's appointment that day so I decided to just wait it out and see what they said at my appointment.

At about 7:30am Thomas (hubby) got up thinking he was going to go to work that day. When he got up I told him "You might as well call into work and tell them your not coming in." He of course asked why and I told him "Because I'm having contractions." He asked why I didn't wake him up and I said because it's not time yet. We then went on with our morning. Contractions at this point were hurting, but not unbareable. I couldn't sit through them, though. If I was sitting when they came on I had to get up and walk around. It helped to walk around some, but they didn't completely go away.

Well, we just went on with our morning and Tom-Tom finally woke up at about 9am. Thomas had already said that he was going to the mall to pay on our internet bill so I decided that I was going to go too. I didn't want to sit around the house just focusing on my contractions. So, I took a shower and got ready. We got to the mall at around 10 am. Well, the internet place wasn't open yet, so I decided that we should walk around. We were there for about 2 hours. I lost a good amount of my mucus plug while we were there. My doctor appointment was at 1:15 that afternoon. Well, while we were at the mall I called to ask if I should come to the appointment or just go to the hospital. They told me to come to the appointment and then told me to come in at 1pm. Well, we left the mall and went straight to my appointment.

At the doctor I was called back fairly quickly and the medical assistant that I had seen my whole pregnancy was like "She just doesn't want to come out does she?!" I said "Oh no, she's coming today! I'm in labor right now!" lol Of course we went on with the normal bp and weight check. Got into the room and waited for what seemed like forever for my doc to come in. He said something about her not wanting to come out. I didn't tell him I was in labor at the moment. I figured when he checked me that he would figure it out for himself! lol He checked me and told me I was about 4-5 cm and told me to go to the hospital. I came out and told Thomas "Let's go to the hospital. He said I'm about a 4-5."

We got to the hospital (which is about a min from my dr office) got checked in, registered and everything. Went to the labor and delivery room. Got into my gown and got hooked up to all the monitors and I had to get an IV with some fluids because I hadn't been eating or drinking anything (I just couldn't do it because I felt kinda sick to my stomach if I did). At this point the contractions hurt bad, but I didn't feel like I was dying yet. I asked for an epidural, but couldn't get one until I got some fluids in me. The nurse said I had to have at least one and half bags of fluids before I could get the epi.

So, all we could do at this point was wait! About 2 hours later at about 4pm I went to roll over to get checked and my water broke the nurse told me that it was meconium stained, but I was 6-7 and 100% effaced. At about 5:30pm I was an 8-9. At 6pm I was ready to push, but couldn't because the doctor was still getting ready to deliver. So, when he finally get ready (not sure what time) about 6:10 or 6:15pm they put my legs in stirrups (old school way, I guess, didn't have to use them with Tom-Tom) I don't remember how many pushes maybe 4 or 5 pushes and she was born at 6:26pm on December 1st.

Happy Thanksgiving

I know I'm almost a week late! lol I don't really know why. No excuses... just because I guess! Anyway, we had an awesome Thanksgiving with great food and family! I brought my camera, but of course forgot to take pics! *D'oh!* Oh well, I got a couple of myself and Tom-Tom before we left for the festivities.

I was trying to get a pic of his hair because I spiked it. Can't really see it because of the sun though.
:(

Hi! Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's my cousin and I belly to belly! lol

It's been kinda quiet around here lately. Not much going on, just getting ready to eat good on Thnksgiving and waiting on Sophia to make her appearance. 40 weeks and 1 day today.

Fun weekend.

I know, I'm kinda late to be posting about the weekend that just past. Since Halloween was on Monday it still felt like the weekend... kinda.

We had a fun Halloween weekend. Saturday, we sat around the house all day because hubby had to work, but that night we went to Trunk-or-Treat at a local church. We went with my cousin (Amanda), her hubby (Travis) and their oldest (Wade) and my cousins sis-in-law, her hubby and their 5 kids. We had fun! I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pics. :(

Sunday, we did nothing until about 4pm. At 4 we went to our church's Fall Festival and had a BLAST!! It was so much fun! They had inflatable bouncy house's, HUGE inflatable slides, cookie decorating, puppet shows and a little concert. We went with Amanda, Travis, Wade and their youngest Colin. Mary (Travis' cousin) was also there with her LO Allen. I, of course, forgot my camera... again. I didn't get any pics, but luckily some other people remembered their camera's and got some good pics. I don't have any to post as of right now, but I will try to get some pics from my cousin computer tomorrow.

Monday was Halloween! :-D We didn't do much during the day because everyone was at work. Monday night we went Trick-or-Treating and we had sooo much fun. Even though it was cold and I was freezing! lol We still had lots of fun. I actually remembered my camera this time and got some pics!! :-D You just can't see them yet because I have to upload them onto my computer! Here's some that Amanda got, though.

Wade and his little brother Colin.
All the kids. From left to right: Sydney, Wade, Kaitlyn, Tom-Tom and Allen in the back. :-D
And here's something for scare ya! My dork of a husband and his Halloween makeup!

On another note, Sophia's due date is in just 18 days!!! :-D ;-D YAYYY!! I hope she comes soon becasue this heartburn is kicking my booty! That, and I just can't wait to hold and cuddle her!

It's Fall Ya'll!

Well, the leaves have finally started to change colors and fall to the ground here in TN. I'm loveing it! I love fall! I decided that me and Tom-Tom would go outside and take advantage of the great scenery and have a photo op. Here's some pics: *Warning: Possible picture overload coming up!*
The pumpkin on the left is one Tom-Tom ddecorated.

Tom-Tom tries to climb the tree!
No, he didn't climb it. I stuck him up there!

Tom-Tom is in there somewhere. Can you see him?!

 Pretty Fall tree.

Cooties & 5QF

We've been trying to nurse a sick (almost) 4 year old back to his normal very active self. Tom-Tom has not been feeling good all week. He seemed like he might have a cold bug at first, then Wednesday night he started to have a bad cough. Wednesday, after we got home from going out to eat and visiting a friend Tom-Tom went straight to sleep. Well, he woke up about an hour later coughing so hard he was throwing up. I took his temp (under his arm) and it was 102.6. I got really worried because he hasn't ever had a temp that high. I then attempted to take it under his tongue he didn't do so well with that one but it still came back 102.2. I was about to take him to the ER, but hubby was like no we'll just let him rest and see how he feels tomorrow. Well, we did things his way and Tom-Tom was still very sick Thursday morning. I took him to his doctor and turns out he has strep throat :-(. I feel so bad for him. He has a really bad barking cough, really high fevers, his voice is crackly/hoarse, runny nose and he's been complaining of headaches. The doctor gave him a prescription for anitbiotics. I hope my little man feels better. We were planning on going to the circus Thursday night, but that got cancelled due to us not wanting to get our whole family (cousins) sick with strep throat :-(. I was really looking forward to going, but oh well. We're planning on going sometime this weekend. The dr said he is only contagious for 24 hrs after he starts taking his mads. :-) I hope I don't catch it! Being 34 weeks pregnant, I already feel like crap most days! The thing that scares me the most is the high fevers. I've been taking every precaution I can to avoid getting sick! I stocked up on hand sanitizer last night and I've been washing my hands like crazy! I also plan to disinfect the whole house after he isn't contagious anymore! lol The last thing me or hubby need to get is strep throat!

Well, enough about having cooties!

Time for 5 Question Friday!! :-D

1. Do you prefer your ice cream in a bowl or in a cone?
Honestly it depends on my mood! I like both or just straight out of the carton! :)

2. What three things do you love the smell of?
Cinnamon, french vanilla and pumpkin.

3. Giftcards or no? (In regards to gift giving...)
Depends on the person. Friends or someone really hard to find a gift for... yes I would give them a gift card.

My family HATES getting gift cards as gifts. They feel gift cards are too impersonal and I agree. I love finding that one gift that makes the other peson smile!

4. What sports did you play in high school if any and do you still play them?
I didn't play any. I don't participate in any now either. I'm lazy (I know!).

Well, I take that back. I will participate in a family game of kickball or volleyball.

5. Were you in band in high school? What instrument did you play?
Nope. I was just there to socialize! I didn't participate in any extra curricular activities.

October!

Well hello there October! I've been waiting for you all summer! :D

I don't like summer very much (even when I'm not pregnant!) Here, in the south, summers are miserable! With temps in the 90-100's and with humidity more than 50% summers here are hot and sticky! Being prego all summer in the south is NOT any fun!

Anyway, I LOVE fall!! As I posted in another post! I also love that it's cooling off! Although, when the seasons change the weather here in TN gets kina crazy! lol You never know what it's going to be. For instance, Saturday night the low was in the 30's all weekend the highs have been in the 60's and by mid-week the highs are going to be back in the 80's! See what I mean! lol Oh I don't mind just glad that the temps aren't in the 100's anymore.

On another note, today I am 33 weeks prego! :D :D Not much longer! I am SOOO ready to get Sophia out of me!! I;m so uncomfortable and this heartburn is driving me CRAZY!

A little PSA: we all know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

So, remember to do your self breast exams.

I think I'm going to turn my blog pink for the month of October! :D

Have a great day!

Happy Fall and 5QF

Well, today is the first offical day of fall!! Yay!! I LOOOVE fall! I love the weather, the colors, the fun happenings. I just love everything about fall. Happy Fall ya'll! :D

Now time for 5 Question Friday.

1. Dream job...realistic and completely unrealistic.

Dream job for me... (realistic) is a nurse, I think, or maybe a preschool teacher.

Unrealistic I'm gonna go with the host of 5QF and say Princess! :D That sounds like a nice job to me! :D

2. Do you fart in front of your significant other?

Yep, I sure do. I'm not a gasy person, but if I need to let one out I do! lol Have you ever tried to hold a fart in? I have and it HURTS!! So I let one go if I need to. He farts in front of me! I wish he didn't, but he does.

3. What's the furthest you've ever traveled from home? How far and where was it?

Ummm... I haven't been to many places outside of Tennessee, but I think the furthest I've been from here is Indianapolis. I was with my dad and his girlfriend at the time. We went up there to visit her famly.

4. How do you celebrate birthday for your kids? Family only or friends? ... Alternate for those without kiddos: How did you celebrate birthdays as a kid?

Well, since Tom-Tom is only 3 1/2 and doesn't go to school or daycare he doesn't have very many friends that are his age. I have friends that have kids, but most of them are older. So, with that being said we usually have one party with both friends and family. Most of the time our friends don't show up anyway so it's mainly just family.
5. Fave thing about fall?

As mentioned above I LOOOVVE fall! I love everything about it! I can't pick just one thing that I love about fall.

Happy Friday folks and have a great weekend!

Fun times

Yesterday me, my cousin and our kids went to a botanical garden called Cheekwood. We had a good time, but I bet we didn't walk even a quarter of the place. It's HUGE!! Anyway our boys had a great time and I had an awesome time watching them playing and running around like crazy! Here are a few pics and I will post more when I get most/all of them into collages.

Not much going on

As the title says, there hasn't been too much going on around here lately.

I went to my cousin's house on Sunday (she was fussing at me because she hasn't seen us in a while). She told me she had a bunch of baby clothes for me and I could pick them up while I was there. Well, I get over there and she was more than just clothes. Here's all the stuff she gave me:
She gave me a bouncy seat, playmat and the thing in the back is a thing you can put the baby in if you want them to sleep in the bed with you.

 Here's the clothes.
Front view of the clothes drawer. The brown thing in the top right corner is a carseat cover.
She also gave us a bassinet.

Yay!! I'm so excited! :-D
